Atilla, yes you can, but in today's world you do have to worry about the crazy ones who need a weapon to show their toughness. When I was being bullied I used my fist and it was a fair battle. The bully and I walked away as friends and nobody ever bothered me again. My advice is that if you see it report it. Capture it for the sake of the person who is getting bullied.

You used your fists and were more honorable than I. I used a metal lunch box, but then there were three of them too.

That's one way of evening up the odds. I just picked my bully up by the scruff of the shirt slammed him on the trunk of a car and just whaled on him. Took 10 others to pull me off of him but we became friends anyway. Whatever it takes.

I was 9 and they were boys who were tormenting my very tiny Chinese-American friend. It became legend at my school, where bullying oriental kids sorta came to a screeching halt. And the principal never called me in for a chat. No note home to Mom either. Turns out a lot of people appreciate it when somebody stands up to bullies. Makes me wonder why more don't do it.

This is just the kind of thing that haters and bullies don't like. Telling their victims to ignore it and things will get better. Wasn't it the Republicans in Michigan that tried to exempt Christian children from bullying legislation?

I think they wanted to allow the Christian children to bully. As long as their abuse was faith based. Can you imagine? Faith based abuse. A long standing tradition.

One can almost hear the right yelling: 'She's trying to INDOCTRINATE our children!!!!!! Telling them it gets better and that some people celebrate diversity! She is a threat to merkins!'

I totally agree, actions in one's youth can have startling effects on a person when they become an adult.... I really wish folks would just live and let live.... I have always been a bit against the grain, but I also think... Hey live this life as you see fit, cos once you are 6 feet under, you will be the Only one in that box... Not all the Folks that could not live their own life and had too much judgement to share....
