Gingrich: Same-Sex Marriage Is ‘Pagan’ Behavior, 'A Fundamental Violation of Civilization'

GINGRICH: It’s pretty simple: marriage is between a man and a woman. This is a historic doctrine driven deep into the Bible, both in the Old Testament and in the New Testament, and it’s a perfect example of what I mean by the rise of paganism. The effort to create alternatives to marriage between a man and a woman are perfectly natural pagan behaviors, but they are a fundamental violation of our civilization.
The former speaker is apparently unaware that many in the Christian faith support same-sex marriage, or at least unions, including: Evangelical Lutherans, Episcopalians, Presbyterians (U.S.A), adherents of the United Church of Christ, and Unitarian Universalists. Polls also show that a majority of Catholics and non-evangelical white Protestants back marriage rights for gay couples.

Considering what this toadish liar has done to two of his wives, he has Zero credibility Addressing any aspect of marriage.

People like Newt Gingrich are terrified of same sex marriage because, marriage in the hands of heterosexuals has been a catastrophe. But marriage in the hands of gays will be a major success.

Now I'm a fat old Georgia boy
My friends all call me Newt
I had a bunch of girl friends
Some even called me cute.
But I married me a woman
Just to watch her die
Don't speak no ill about me
I'm evil and I'm sly.Back a few odd years ago
When speaker of the house
Put a contract on America
Cause I was just a louse
Yes I like screwing people
Don't ask the reason why
Don't speak no ill about me
I'm evil and I'm slyNow I'm a fan of marriage
I've done it several times
And I like family values
I'm bible thumping slime
I really hate gay marriage
I'm just that kind of guy
Don't speak no ill about me
I'm evil and I'm sly - 4 months ago

It's so sad that this poor man has no one in his family who loves him enough that they would take him by the hand, lead him from the stage and get him some medical help! Sad Sad Sad...

A living breathing pile of shit is a violation of the laws of nature! How the hell does he do it?
Gingrich the shit-pile is a fairy tale, they say,
He was made of shit but the Republicans
Know how he came to life one day.
There must have been some magic in that
Old hair helmet they found.
For when they placed it on his head
He began to dance around.
O, Gingrich the shit-pile! - 4 months ago

What a pompous ass. I am so disgusted by this ongoing march of the lemmings to institutionalize their religious beliefs...not going to happen Newt...and as for pagan behavior....you say that like it is a bad thing?

He must really believe what he's saying given the fact that he's had so many heterosexual marriages.

Religion has nothing to do with marriage. Marriage is an agreement between two people that express love for each other. In modern society, marriage is a contract between two people that is SANCTIONED by the state. Various religions, if the couple so desires, can SANCTIFY the marriage. In modern society, you can neither enter into nor leave a marriage without the STATE. Religions have no say in the matter.
Newt's actions regarding marriage is more pagan than his "christian" beliefs. Divorce was tolerated in many pagan religions.
As to being gay and pagan, I would totally disagree. Even in the animal kingdom there are documented cases of "gay" couples spending their lives together. It is natural for two people who love each other to commit to themselves. Newt, and his home wrecking wives, should not be commenting on what others should do, when he does not even do what he demands of others.

Though the definition is changing marriage has always been a religious institution. "What god has joined together"...so forth and so on. I don't know the history of when/why the state got involved, but I'd wager it was about dollars and cents.

Newt's opinion about marriage is moot. He should refrain from talking about marriage, between anyone. He knows not what he speaks. His marrital vows meant nothing to him. How can he know what it means to someone else?

He gives the profession of Historian a bad name. As an Art Historian (with a minor in history) it makes me shudder every time he states he is a historian. What he should say is that he is a Professor of Alternative History because he sure likes to rewright it to fit his own ends. Jeeze.

His gay sister must be so proud of old Newt. I have never comprehended why the GOP have such a fascination with LBGT community. Why do they care what adults do in their own bedroom? They are always claiming they want a smaller government with less regulations - but wait - that is only for their corporate masters. They want to control the lives of all us peons to keep us in line.
