Religion has nothing to do with marriage. Marriage is an agreement between two people that express love for each other. In modern society, marriage is a contract between two people that is SANCTIONED by the state. Various religions, if the couple so desires, can SANCTIFY the marriage. In modern society, you can neither enter into nor leave a marriage without the STATE. Religions have no say in the matter.

Newt's actions regarding marriage is more pagan than his "christian" beliefs. Divorce was tolerated in many pagan religions.

As to being gay and pagan, I would totally disagree. Even in the animal kingdom there are documented cases of "gay" couples spending their lives together. It is natural for two people who love each other to commit to themselves.
