We Desperately need a New kind of “News” channel.

A Desperately needed New “News” Channel for the U.S. that would succeed in spite of the elimination of the "Fairness Doctrine" by Republican saint Ronald Reagan at the request of Rupert Murdock is a News station that ‘Requires’, as policy, that everything broadcasted is to be the TRUTH with No misleading or out-of-context statements allowed in ALL broadcast material. It would require having an external group that monitors everything for Truth and Accuracy so that what is broadcasted can be Trusted. It is an old-fashioned idea that the people who are trusted to give you the ‘News’ be required to tell you the Truth, Without misleading statements and it is time for those Ideals to come back!
One result will be that they will be a little behind other channels on reporting current events simply because All material and statements Must be checked for accuracy. But, people WILL tune in to get the “Un-Spun” news that they Trust and I think it would be a VERY popular station.
Another result would be that Any political advertising, and all advertising for that matter, would be Required to be Truthful and Accurate, *(No ‘misleading’ or ‘out-of-context’ statements allowed!), which most people would pay attention to Knowing that it is Required to be the Accurate Truth.
*(Many politicians And companies will have a Very hard time coming up with an ad that would pass the test.) Win, Win!

my position comes from evaluationg of al-jazeera, but hey nothing like offering an assumptive reality in lue of an actual one, cuz no one would do that.certainly not al-jazeera who appeals to you as you literally did just that hmm.

i think it is great to have all the different perspectives shared.but the problem is we arent looking at them as different perspectives as they are, but like religious nut bags are fighting over which story is truth, when they are all spin.

personally i get a kick out of watching right wing coverage, left wing coverage, bbc coverage and the rest of the worlds coverage of a given story (except for the rt, cuz they seriously dont even try) to see what the middle is between them all.

i just dont understand thinking one is superior when they are all pulling the same obvious shit

I don't see anyone here calling AlJazeera "evil propaganda" -- it's basically on a level with BBC (being the successor to BBC Arabic, much of the staff included). But, like any other news outlet, it shouldn't be assumed that it is the sole purveyor of "truth" (whatever that may be in the media) You have to be sceptical and shop around for different viewpoints. Recently, for instance, AlJazeera's coverage of Syria has been very much in line with what its Qatari gvt owners would want to see reported. Fortunately, RT, Spiegel, FAZ and WSWS have been providing alternative viewpoints on that. All news involves some spin.

what other element are you playing on then?what is associated by the name is not an ethnocentric value based in the middle east?

i find racism and all manner of prejudice disgustingly counter productive, with the only thing worse that it itself is the exploiting its disgusting nature for personal fun.like calling people who arent even remotely racist such, which devalues the claim itself when one seeks to apply it to those who are deserving.

for fuck sake dude, you are talking to "freecrack" who is responding to "livingpong" and you are trying to sell the idea that the shakespearian "what is in a name" applies to me?

you have nothing to base this on, just need some one to attack.im happy to be that person cuz i really dont care, but you really should try growing up a lil here man.
