Great, it turns out the President was golfing with oil industry executives that day.

We need to take back this country and jobs in solar, wind and etc. Not the big oil corportion and needs and want from K street...They aren't thinking of the world and what harm that is happen to us

They calling for America to switch over to solar? I mean despite lies by Faux News we get allot more yearly sunlight than Germany, and could realistically end reliance on coal and even nuclear.

There have been wonderful ideas about solar highways/interstates, some even put into action. And it doesn't just have to be solar panels built into the road, could be solar panels just above all that already used roadway. The latter idea would even save wear on motorists cars, and reduce the need for air-conditioning in them, poor people like that idea anyway...

Any ideas on thorium getting much voice, nope, just China beating us to the punch there...

Excellent showing of protesters! I hope they are successful in getting the message across to Obama.

On CBC News in Canada tonight they covered the protest both in the US and in Canada (although Canada's was much smaller). They were saying that the Harper government is putting extreme pressure on the Obama Administration to approve the pipeline. They also showed Harper standing up in Parliament claiming that US radicals are stoking Canadian protesters (typical Conservative mentality - anyone that wants to save the environment is a radical). He is so tone deaf. Now he has his entire Cabinet putting pressure on the US government, trying to claim that the pipeline will bring all these jobs. They also said that Conservative radio in the US is pushing for it too.

This is a very good number as it was butt cold.

Hopefully the president makes the right decision by listening to these protesters. If he doesn't then we're more screwed than before

This is SO important. Peaceful protest is a powerful tool available to all citizens.

Wow, that is wonderful, it beats a Tea Party Rally any day. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the President does the right thing. Not just stopping the XL Pipeline entering the US through the northwest, but the alternative pipeline they want to build that would enter the US in the northeast, as well.
