    • You don't have to go to Spain to see lazy men. I live in the suburbs and not too many men do work in the home. Also when I was a child my mother hung clothes on clothes lines. When I go home to Killeen Texas to visit my parents, I see clothes lines in her neighbors back yards.

    • I think that it is great they passed this symbolic law. Too some extent it is a generational thing but even in the older generations there are exceptions. The father of my ex-girlfriend, la amor mas grande de mi vida, did all the chores around the house, got the groceries, made the food, and also washed the dishes.
Tchang has a great point, because her parents, even though they had lived together forever and had three kids, never got married. You find that is the norm with our generation in Spain. People don't get married very often but still form civil unions.

& yeah I was the designated dishwasher at home...

    • It's interesting to see how different the situation in Spain is from the United States, or at least the America I know. I wonder why the Spanish government felt the need to pass this law, or how it was even passed in the first place since sharing domestic work seems so unpopular among most Spanish men. I'd love to tag along for an enforcement raid!

    • So, does machismo actually appeal to heterosexual women?

I guess I can find out by reading Cosmo the next time I'm waiting at Supercuts.

      Right?
