    • It is at least exciting to see that the sex workers themselves are taking to the streets and education other sex workers, rather than outsiders coming into the country and trying to do the same. I believe that this provides a certain level of understanding and a connection, more or less, because it may give a feeling that "this person is like me."

    • Laura raises an excellent point -- HIV has emerged as a disease of development in India and China. Traditionally seen as a symptom of poverty in Africa, you could also look at it as an impediment to development. In Africa, in addition to the human toll, the economic toll and the lost opportunity is huge. If HIV were contained, could the poorest of the poor countries finally get on their feet?
