    • Death makes you think more about your present actions. It breaks my heart that they couldn't recover completly but I love that their giving these kids a chance to live. Increasing laughs before one dies would and should fill the other's soul. I think if I could I would be with these children.

    • AT THE DYING RATE OF HIV, ABOUT HOW IT'S TAKING THE LIVES OF THOUSANDS AROUND THE WORLD. YOU'D LIKELY HAVE TO QUESTION THE MORAL ATTITUDES OF MAN. OR PERHAPS THE BASIC MINIMUM OF OUR CONSCIENCE OF SOUL IF IT DOES STILL EXIST TODAY.

    • I loved that there isn't a resolution in this pod. I like how the question is posed -- what did you do to get HIV -- and the children give clearly false repsonses but the filmmaker doesn't intervene to correct them. When people discuss the AIDs crisis in Africa many don't know what we're up against, and that knowledge, not condoms or vaccines or any other scientific advance, is more powerful than anything. How will an epidemic end when people have no idea how they contracted it? Great pod.

    • How long were you volunteering there? Was it during the elections? I cannot help but think about local NGOs and local orphanages and how they are suffering because of the violence.

    • Thank you so much, for this extremely eye opening and moving pod. I had no idea that so many orphans living with HIV were so uneducated about the disease itself.
Once again thanks for sharing your wonderful experiences and incredibly benevolent acts!

    • Here's a BBC article about HIV In Kenya. Christof's piece successfully puts a human face on the crisis.
I was particularly moved by the interview with the orphan that blamed himself for contracting HIV.
