While the families of 9/11 victims want the Guantanamo Bay detention camps to remain open, President-elect Barack Obama and many other critics believe the military prison is a failure of the American government. After working for a year and a half to arrange media access to the camp, Adrian Baschuk's report from the controversial detention center includes interviews with a freed detainee, detention guards, psych workers and the camp's Admiral.

    • Elba, ruebezahl, You can send me to Elba... it's quite lovely there now. In fact Napoleone's mansion is now a tourist attraction. Rolling mountains, ocean views...yep I'll take.

    • These guys are not just thrown in here for passing gas in puplic, come on people. If you want them freed take them home to your abode. As for the censorship... yeah we're going to make a documentary of all the exits, guard posts, codes/id needed for entrance, techniques for keeping prisoners from making plans to communicate with outside members of their groups, and to end with a big bang will post the floorplans. DUH!

    • If there is not sufficient prove of their crime they should go home. The island of Elba or Siberia could be a place for the ones that do not want to go home.

    • It needs to be shut down. We just can't hold someone indefinitely without a trial. They are either guilty or not. Shut it down. Suspicion is not a just cause enough to hold someone without trial for years and years and years.

Unless, of course, someone thinks that they are hiding WMD on their persons?
