In the Pirate's Den

Great story. Looks like it took a lot of bravery and bravado to bring us that story. This country needs more reporting like that because we tend to get caught up in the nonsense of the American lifestyle. The news we see on the major news station seems so spoon-fed and scripted a lot of the times so stories like these are really refreshing and bring us out of our national bubble. I'm reading a book right now written by one of the founding collaborators on Al Jezeera English and I think the journalism that you and Vanguard are producing is exactly the type of coverage I now understand we are being deprived of and that the author wishes more American journalists were producing.

I was watching this and thinking Kaj must be scared going into the pirates territory. I mean thats crazy!!! but at least you guys found someone who got to take you there and show that its not :Pirates of the Carri bean.

This is why I like current and Vanguard it shows you the raw truth because CNN cuts it too short or covers it.When I saw the airing of this story I was so interested in it and by the end of the report I was sadden by the lives of people going through difficult times,I had the feeling that I needed to help, and I love the organization MSF the are perhaps the guardian angels of their lives..
I think Vanguard has great great reporters

Good reporting on piracy specially on Somalia. I feel sadden about those dead Somali who end up the shore of Yemen, all they trying to do was to look for a better life.
There are two part of Somalia the war torn and peaceful area (Somaliland) up the north. May be should Report peaceful area too.

Nice episode guys. The newspaper I help produce ran an article just after the three pirates were killed. The story proclaimed that "the Pirates" have vowed revenge for the killings. The impression I got from the earlier Vanguard about piracy was that most are people living in poverty. I was quite disgusted that the article made no differentiation between the people who run the piracy and the jobless fishermen who turn to it to feed there children.
Luckily we have vanguard to show the truth, thanks Kaj and all of the production crew. You guys inspire me to stand up for what I believe is right. Well done!
