I thought Vanguard was cutting edge until I saw this story. True you showed the epedemic that is prescription pills and did a very good job.You then fell right into the same old reporting.
Showing drug addicts being arrested and carried off to jail and being sacrificed for the problem. Its the same thing over and over and the real story is left untold. Maybe you should do a part two for this story. Go rattle some Politicians cages on why this epidemic is really here, show the amount of greed and who really is making all this happen behind the scenes. Show how the Pharmaceutical Lobby is involved in our Gov, show the real corruption. Expose those few who are willing to commit genocide on a whole population of poor and middle class people for money. You were in Miami for God sake! its everywhere the excess is unreal. Go expose the local Politicians and Council members and Doctors providing the prescritions. Expose them while they are sitting on a 300k yacht but they are only claiming to make 70k a year. Come on, you showed the epidemic now show America where it all comes from. Your not going to sell out like Fox News are you?
Why not talk about the dollars involved in this epidemic in detail? Show the people why drug addicts are being ripped from their families and imprisoned for mostly non violent crimes? Why didnt you ask the Sherriff from Kentucky how much money he got from the state for each prisoner locked in his jails? You could have asked the same thing of the Florida law enforcment .Why didnt you confront the law Enforcment and ask them why are they stinging drug addicts and not getting the crooked Doctors and Pain Clinics. They flat out told you that it was easy to sting the addicts who are selling to sustain a drug habit and you didnt ask the tough questions that needed to be asked. It wasnt just money from the drugs, what about their ties to private prisons and why they want to house all the non violent criminals.
It all goes back to crooked politicians and the greed that has consumed this country. They prey on the poor and middle class and operate at will and no one is reporting it. I really enjoy your shows but this particular story left me feeling empty because you told half the story.

30 pills a day? How the heck are they getting so much access to these things.
These pharmaceutical companies are drug dealers of another breed.

You hit it on the nail with this one. I think we are looking in the wrong direction for the War on Drugs. I think we need to look a little closer at our own backyard...like you said....
