The soldiers ripped out of their homes with promises of a career and an education get a lesson in what life is all about. This is no surprise! The rich Americans don't send their own kids to fight and die and suffer from mental anguish later in life, end up in jail etc. It's easy to connect the dots, the history repeats itself, again.

Unfortunately there are no statistics in Sweden on whether we have equivalent problems. Regardless, should not our soldiers from international forces to come home to indifference or ignored by us. The situations that soldiers have experienced is light years from what is happening here at home. We need not understand everything but we must listen to them!

We ought to consider the role of our soldiers who fight overseas, that on their return home, immediate and medical action should be taken to redress any form of suffering they've udergone, while overseas, and ease the pains they've experienced, to the satisfaction of theif families and the nation at large. They deserve the very best medical attention. That's the least we could do for them.

They know how to train a person to be a soilder, but fail to train a soilder to be a civilian. These are people who gave a lot and sometimes all for the American Dream. PTSD needs to be addressed and a solution NOW.

i agree, its pretty unbelievable that the government creates this body of men and women with lethal skills and then expect them NOT to be damaged when they try to re-integrate into society.

I concur, PTSD is no joke. It pisses me off when people think that it's just a Soldier making up something for benefits from the VA or just an excuse people use for being a "pussy". I was diagnosed with PTSD and find myself waking up in the middle of the night especially during storms thinking IDF is coming in. I have been woken up in mid run with a pillow in hand thinking it was my rifle. It really is an issue that needs to be evaluated.

This is a good piece, but the 800 lb gorilla in the room that's not mentioned is the horrible war crimes many of these men and women were forced to commit against the people of Iraq and Afghanistan during their deployments. It's no wonder 1/3 of veterans suffer from PTSD.

saw this and was immediately amazed at how this epidemic is continuing to go un-noticed I have seen it before. It's not great and the fact that our soldiers are showing symptoms of PTSD and then sometimes being sent off again to endure what made them that aggressive in the first place is completely and utterly irresponsible....they need help and frankly the military is doing little as of right now.
But yet again another compelling story!

Without question, another captivating story. One slight peeve--during the lull of the fisher case, Kaj says something along the lines of "he awaits the verdict of guilty, or innocent." As far as I'm aware, and I could be wrong, a jury never declares a defendant as 'innocent,' rather than 'not guilty.' There is no room for assumption in regards to the guy's innocence...the jury can't sit and deliberate if he's completely innocent, rather just discuss if he's guilty of this specific crime. Ugh, I know, I'm so gross and exasperating for even noticing, but ehh [nothing better to do]. ha. either way, I literally only watch current tv. that's it. no exaggeration. much love.

MDMA was created as a drug to cope with PTSD.... It works.
But I guess that those who seek to prevent recreational use of the drug trump those who may actually find it medically beneficial.

Why aren't these "boys" getting the mental health services they need and deserve? Jeeeez, it's sad how much the USA has gone downhill. It really is.

QuestionGeek:
First they give them the disease by breeding them to be murders. Telling them they'll pay for school as soon as they finish killing in the name of political rhetoric. THEN they deny them help.
What kind of people are we to create this mind state? Every dollar we spend supports the breeding of this mentality, and furthers the reach of our insanity.
My friends did not come back the same. Our political machine is sickening at best.
