In "American Jihadi," Vanguard correspondent Christof Putzel traces the journey of a small town kid from Alabama to Somalia, where as part of Al-Shabaab he is now recruiting young Muslims from the west to wage jihad overseas.
"Vanguard," airing weekly on Current TV Wednesdays at 10/9c, is a no-limits documentary series whose award-winning correspondents put themselves in extraordinary situations to immerse viewers in global issues that have a large social significance. Unlike sound-bite driven reporting, the show's correspondents, Adam Yamaguchi, Kaj Larsen, Christof Putzel and Mariana van Zeller, serve as trusted guides who take viewers on in-depth real life adventures in pursuit of some of the world's most important stories.

It isn't that anyone is super racist against Muslims that makes them unable to find jobs, it is that they are up near Detroit.
Also isn't saying "I'll be a Jihadi to fight bad perspective of Muslims" being like "I'll dress up in an SS outfit to protest racism against German people?"
Um hello.. McFly.... if they don't like it here they can get out and stay out I guarantee we have at least 100 people in other countries like North Korea, Libya etc. who would change places with them in a minute.

Maybe u didnt hear him well. These kids are good law-abiding citizens there whole life; they work hard, study, and are given the illusion that after they graduate with degrees, they can live the American dream. The US however, has become so racist against muslims or anything of that nature because were too ignorant to tell between the two.
So these kids dreams of a better life, a well earned citizenship in a country where working hard is the foundation of its economy, become destroyed and Al Qaeda grabs these kids when they are most vulnerable and channels their frustration into hate with brainwash tactics. Now after pearl harbor, shit was the same, but can we accept the fact that not all muslims and similar ethnic groups are all terrorist? I think itll be a while but put yourself in their shoes. And every time someone says "go back to your country" I laugh because people forget their world history. United States of America is a country made of immigrants. North America truly belongs to the Native Americans. Education goes far.

Thats an insane concept to grasp, but if I was in their shoes I can understand the frustration and anger of being discriminated after all that work.
