In this dispatch from the field, "Vanguard" correspondent Christof Putzel rides with state police officers in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, through some of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the area. To avoid becoming targets, state officers wear masks to shield their identities and stay heavily armed. A routine patrol quickly became a car chase through the streets at speeds of 70 to 80 miles per hour.
Watch the premiere of Vanguard's "Arming the Mexican Cartels" on Monday, October 31, at 9/8c.
