In this episode of "Vanguard," correspondent Adam Yamaguchi travels to Chennai, India with Kenny, who has decided that a more affordable hip surgery there is worth any added risk.

"Vanguard" is Current TV's no-limits documentary series whose award-winning correspondents put themselves in extraordinary situations to immerse viewers in global issues that have a large social significance. Unlike sound-bite driven reporting, the show's correspondents, Adam Yamaguchi, Christof Putzel and Mariana van Zeller, serve as trusted guides who take viewers on in-depth real life adventures in pursuit of some of the world's most important stories.

    • I am impressed by the show. I have to declare bankruptcy due to two medical procedures. I had two vertebrae removed from my neck and two vertebrae fused. I also had a skin cancer which was removed. In both cases the surgeons are from India, I do not know where they studied, they were excellent and expensive. Why not have the surgeons in India do the operations? I have Medicare which leaves considerable expenses after they pay their part.

    • Excellent job Adam in capturing the full experience. I have had both of my hips resurfaced by Dr. Vijay Bose in India due to the first time my HMO turning me down since it was considered "experimental" and the second time, f I would have switched to a PPO my co pay probably would have cost just as much as my entire surgery and I would have had to settle for a second rate surgeon in N. CA, instead I had one of THE best surgeons in the world. I posted on my support group and let all the patients know to watch this segment, many missed it. I would love to post a link to this, the India hip resurfacing portion along with the street traffic in Chenaa which brought back many memories on my website. Can someone please contact me and let me know of it is ok to post a link to this?
      Thanks
