It amazes me how easy it is for the missionaries to spread their agenda to these people but just as easily distance themselves when the issue becomes to controversial. I always thought that Christianity was supposed to spread love, joy, and hope to the world. But I see that when the word of God suits their agendas then makes it necessary to cast judgement and to award punishment to anyone that doesn't fall into their definition of normalcy. Just like any other religious organization that twists the words written in the Bible and calls it a war in the name of Christ. I agree with Long John- God made us in his image and therefore there is nothing wrong with me. Gay is not a choice. Its who I am. Not what I do that defines me. I just hope and pray that those that live in Uganda will have the opportunity to escape to safety!

why did you guys let them paint your faces for this promo? you guys look like clowns, not journalists

My dad was converted by Southern Baptist missionaries around the time of my birth 40 years ago. We are Guatemalan, but I could see so much of us, my dad, in the hysterical Ugandans in the film. To this day, I don't think my dad has any notion how he devalued my life as a gay child by holding and fomenting those vicious, barbarous, baseless beliefs.

I love Mariana and the rest of Vanguard reporters. They're all great. I also want to applaud the cameramen/women as well. It is so amazing how they can capture the emotions of both reporters and the subjects. That's a real skill and real talent! Kudos!

Thank you Mariana for bringing this story to the U.S. I am disturbed to say the least that this is going on, anywhere! This is not a mission of love as God would commission, but properly titled missionaries of hate. Raised southern baptist, I hear clinging symbols and a bunch of noise. This is not how God would love the gay community! Like Long Jones said himself, "Where is the mercy." Obviously there is a disconnect somewhere in Ssempa's theology. This is not a man of God but rather a tool of Satan. I am Christian and struggled with homosexuality all my life. In the past four-five years God has healed these old broken wounds. It has not been an easy journey to say the least! Things that happenend in my developmental years that I had no control of influenced my choices before I was even five years old! God is mercy. And Long Jones I love you and so does God! So much! I wish there was I way I could reach out to you and show you the real love of Jesus. Cuz you won't find that there under this man's ministry as you already know! You are in my prayers Brother. Keep seeking God! current and vanguard should host more "live tweet" events in the future...just my opinion...it was immediate and engaging, good for viewers and as a new media venture in general!
