Current TV co-founder Al Gore joined host Eliot Spitzer for an hour-long “Viewpoint” special edition in which they discussed everything from the Wisconsin recall election to voter suppression laws in Florida.
We share some of our favorite Al Gore moments from the show, including Gore’s reference to Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire” while discussing the divisive politics on display in Wisconsin; his pointed critique of Mitt Romney’s position on the economy as a rehashing of George Bush’s failed policies; and his outrage over the Supreme Court’s controversial Citizens United ruling, which paved the way to the super PACs and massive corporate donations that have become a staple of this presidential election — ”Our democracy has been hacked.”
