Bill Bradley: ‘Politicians have to tell people the truth, and sometimes the truth hurts’

Bill Bradley, a former three-term Democratic senator from New Jersey, joins Current TV’s John Fugelsang to discuss his new book, “We Can All Do Better.” Bradley shares his perspective on the sequester, money in politics, Citizens United, filibuster reform, immigration and the need for direct democracy to enact change.

“If the Arab Spring can happen because people organize themselves and change a dictatorship, it can certainly happen in the United States where it’s so much easier to make real change,” Bradley says. “But politicians have to tell people the truth, and sometimes the truth hurts because we’ve gotten ourselves into a bad position.”
