Eric Boehlert on the sequester: President Obama and Republicans are not equally to blame

Eric Boehlert, senior fellow at Media Matters for America, talks with Current TV’s John Fugelsang about what he argues is the media’s tendency to claim the Republicans and the president are equally to blame when it comes to the sequester.

“The press is basically blaming Obama for not changing Republican behavior. And as I wrote, they have literally been doing this since the week he was inaugurated in 2009. The press, Beltway press, set up brand-new rules when it came to Obama and Republicans and bipartisanship, and the very simple rule was: If the two sides don’t agree, it’s Obama’s fault,” Boehlert says.
