‘Fraudulent’: Barney Frank takes on Paul Ryan’s budget

Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) joins “Viewpoint” host Eliot Spitzer to discuss Mitt Romney’s running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and, in particular, the federal budget Ryan has championed.

“He’s an amiable guy. You can have a peaceful, pleasant conversation with him — as long as you don’t talk about anything substantive,” Frank says of Ryan. “But he is an absolute extremist, and the budget is fraudulent.”

Spitzer and Frank agree Ryan’s budget allocates almost no money for any government program other than the military. “We’re talking about policemen on the streets in our cities. We’re talking about highways. We’re not talking about exotica — we’re talking about the most basic elements of government.”
