Joe Romm, editor of Climateprogress.org and author of “Language Intelligence,” tells “Viewpoint” host Eliot Spitzer why news that the Arctic ice cap has shrunk to the smallest size on record is cause for concern.
“The Arctic ice cap is like the earth’s freezer in some sense, and the door is now left open,” Romm explains. ”You may remember Mitt Romney said he didn’t want to become president to slow the rise of the seas, but I’ll tell you, we need some president to help slow the rise of the seas. Otherwise … we could see a foot of sea level rise by mid-century and then up to six feet by the end of the century,” Romm continues.
