Michael Hastings on Obama and gun control: ‘His family lives in fear of this sort of violence’

Michael Hastings, BuzzFeed correspondent at large and author of “Panic 2012,” joins John Fugelsang on “Viewpoint” to discuss whether an awareness of gun violence impacted President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign. Hastings also weighs in on the gun control policies Obama introduced today, including 23 executive orders as well as proposals for legislation that would need to be enacted by Congress.

“The president is surrounded by violence,” Hastings observes. “The man is the biggest target — one of the biggest targets — in the world. His family lives in fear of this sort of violence.”
