Sen. Bernie Sanders on the fiscal cliff deal: Obama ‘should have applied more pressure’

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., tells “Viewpoint” host Eliot Spitzer why voting “yes” on the fiscal cliff deal was difficult for him. Sanders lists the pros and cons of the agreement and looks at the debt ceiling fight that is sure to come.

“It is no great secret that in the last three major negotiations, the Republicans won decisively. I think it’s probably fair to say that while it is absolutely true that the president and the Democrats should have negotiated tougher — they could have gotten a lot more — I think certainly they did better than they did in the previous three. The question is, what happens now?” Sanders says.
