Eric Bates, Rolling Stone executive editor, talks to “Viewpoint” host Eliot Spitzer about Mitt Romney’s Etch A Sketch track record and a new Rolling Stone article by Tim Dickinson suggesting that Romney has permanently moved away from the centrist candidate he could have been by embracing Paul Ryan’s budget and a far-right social agenda.
“The Ryan budget has gotten a lot of attention, but a lot of the other agenda items that the House Republicans have been passing for the past two years — and sometimes passing repeatedly — really reveal what their agenda is,” Bates says. “There is a severe social agenda: restricting women’s rights to get an abortion even if they’re dying, even if they’ve been raped, under all kinds of conditions; allowing people to carry concealed permits against state regulations if they’re drunk.”
