Austan Goolsbee, former chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, reacts to the September jobs report and an accompanying accusation of a conspiracy theory with “Viewpoint” host Eliot Spitzer.
“It is absolutely and totally ridiculous to say that somehow, some political people changed the numbers in [the Bureau of Labor Statistics],” Goolsbee says. “It makes no sense whatsoever. Look, I’m friends with Jack Welch, he’s a great guy — I have no idea what he’s talking about. I mean, this is birtherist, crazy stuff.”
