Will Obama sign pro-LGBT executive order? ‘The question is when,’ says Tico Almeida

Tico Almeida, founder and president of Freedom to Work, returns to “Viewpoint” to update host Eliot Spitzer on the status of continuing efforts to convince President Obama to sign an executive order that would ban federal contractors from workplace discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. Although Almeida is not sure when the president will sign the order, he came away from his second meeting with White House staffers more confident than before: “It is clear to me that these White House staffers and the president of the United States share with me — and with the whole gay rights movement and transgender rights movement — the American value that you should be judged at work based on your talent, and your hard work, and your skills and performance, and not on who you love or what your gender identity may be.”
