Brazilians are being encouraged to do their bit to save the rainforest by taking a leak when showering.

The TV adverts from Brazilian environmental group SOS Mata Atlantica are intended to persuade people to flush their loos less. They say that if a household avoids one flush a day, it can save up to 4,380 litres (1,157 gallons) of water annually.

The ad features cartoon drawings of lots of different kinds of people - a trapeze artist, a basketball player, even an alien – urinating in the shower.

Narrated by children's voices, the ad ends with: "Pee in the shower! Save the Atlantic rainforest!"

    • well i suppose its not to bad to pee in the shower.... well i say that unless you peed directly onto your feet that wouldnt be to good, but i guess that if every one peed in the shower the worlds water problems would be that bit better.
