The infant, weighing 500 grams (17.6 ounces), had been placed in a box by hospital officials in Asuncion, Paraguay, then taken to the parents home.
The hospital have said that this was "a very unusual case". One would hope!

Total crap.
The baby was declared dead and put in a "box" and then taken to the parents home??? Where did the mom give birth?
And at 17.6 oz.....it was more of a miscarriage than a birth....so why was the fetus given back to the parents in a box?? eek
And the big question is...........where is the fetus/baby now?????
This is sooooo not true!!! Next we'll hear it had two heads and an alien father.....
Hello???? Anyone home????

There is a true story, that a woman was told her baby had died and they let the family hold him one last time, and when the mother held him he opened his eyes and started to move and breathe, she had lost a baby before so, she was prepared, but that was def, a miracle, but i agree with Uncle charlie (for once LOL) they do a lot before a baby is taken to a wake and/or funeral....

You need money for embalming. They used the cheat in the Civil War - and only put in a little at the neck. You'd have to pay extra and have someone watch in order to get a full dose.
Maybe it is still the way.
The funeral bizz has all kinds of ways to make $$.

WHOA, Horsey! The baby was pronounced dead at the hospital, put in a box, and went home to his parents. There is absolutely NO mention of the baby being taken to a funeral wake!! NONE! Besides, a funeral wake would mean the babies body would have been embalmed, and the undertaker does a whole lot of nasty stuff, like draining the blood, pumping in formaldehyde, and puncturing all the internal organs with a "trocar". Ewww. So, this story had to make up a sensationalistic headline- like the National Enquirer. Too bad. HOORAY for the parents!! A miracle, indeed.

Who ever wrote this story spelled Pediactrics wrong. I don't know of anybody who has a wake just hours after the death. Something is a little fishy here.

The article is from a British news channel and hosted on Yahoo UK - so 'paediatric' is correct, not 'pediatric' - to be pedantic. ;o)
