Police Hunt £40m Jewellery Robbers

"Extremely dangerous" robbers steal almost £40m from a Mayfair jewellers in the biggest gems heist in British history, Scotland Yard confirm.


Arriving in a black cab, two smartly-dressed thieves raided Graff Jewellers in London's West End last Thursday.

Wielding two handguns, they threatened staff before snatching rungs, bracelets, necklaces and watches.

They fired two warning shots into the ground as they escaped in a series of vehicles across central London.

Detective Chief Inspector Pam Mace, of the Flying Squad, said: "This was a well planned robbery with a number of vehicles used to help the robbers escape.
