U.S. Military may lift ban on women in submarines

The Pentagon is thinking about lifting a historical ban on allowing women to serve in submarines. This is part of a wider strategy expanding the roles women can hold in the military.

The traditional problem with the idea is the cramped conditions of the submarines which would force men and women to co-exist in a tiny amount of space. But, as Nancy Duff Campbell points out, "they already separate where the officers sleep from the enlisted, so it's not like it can't be done."
