Sponsors, perhaps saluting the new face-fuzz made him their "man of the match," despite him coming on as a substitute and not scoring. Baffled England boss Fabio Capello laughed off the accolade, suggesting it was as ridiculous as Barack Obama being given the Nobel Peace prize after a similarly short stint as President.
For a man with dodgy English, Capello can make topical swipes with the best of them, and for that he's a keeper in my eyes.
Beck's beard was not well-received by girlie magazine Grazia which today questioned whether the handsome Essex boy is trying to make himself un-fanciable. Why would he do that? They can say what they like, I think Beckham's new face-fuzz "becomes" him.

On our poll on http://www.asylum.co.uk has the vote currently at 87 per cent against the face fuzz, and 13 per cent for it.

In a poll... a *really* important ground-breaking poll... a third of people voting (3000 in total) said the Beckhams most accurately represent the modern famlly, putting them ahead of The Simpsons by a mere one 1%.
Yep, a family who own about five houses, fly in helicopters and have a child named Romeo more accurately represent a modern British family than some cartoon yellow Americans. All good, then.
Ps. His stupid beard looks drawn on with marker pen.
