Ice cream as cure for cancer?

New Zealand scientists have been busy working on an ice cream so good for you it might as well come with a prescription!

Researchers at the University of Auckland have working on their special "medical dessert" which has shown encouraging signs in combating the side-effects of chemotherapy in cancer sufferers. The ice cream, called ReCharge, is using active ingredients from dairy products to relieve diarrhoea, anaemia and lack of appetite which are commonly found in people undergoing chemotherapy.

Participants in the trial have been eating a tub of ice cream everyday.

To be honest, even if the effects associated with this ice cream product are purely the result of a placebo effect there can't be much harm in letting the patients enjoy a treat like ice cream in order to make them feel better.

    • Its hard to believe that ice cream could cure cancer, if you listen to all the scientists then pretty much verything in he world either gives you cancer or cures cancer.

I remember reading a couple of years ago (in the Daily Mail of all places) that tomatoes give you cancer! Things like that make it hard to take any of these claims seriously
