Growing concerns about the student bar crawls being organised by a UK promoter have led the National Union of Students to call for a Government ban.

Carnage UK are behind mass-student bar crawls in cities across Britain - but they have been criticised after one participant was caught urinating on a war memorial.

...

But Varsity Leisure Group (VLG) Ltd, which runs the Carnage UK events, dismissed claims its nights encourage binge drinking.

In a statement, VLG said: "The NUS and Students' Unions do not like Carnage UK events because they compete with their own ... events."

    • I can see where people are coming from with the 'let student be students' you are only young once, but why does being young have to consist of drinking yourself into oblivion.
I am against carnage UK, and can't believe that their is company which encourages students binge drinking and god knows what else! I know it's not the same, but what if we had a company that specialises in getting people together so they can all play games and get off their heads on heroin? or fatty foods? etc, just because alcohol (unfortunatly) such an acceptable part of society, no one seems to mind...well no one seemed to care until the picture of that lad urinating on the memorial surfaced.
