Trade of out of date foods is thriving

The trade in out of date foods is said to be thriving as people go online in search of food bargains.

In particular tinned goods, fizzy drinks and crisps are heavily reduced if you are willing to overlook their best before dates.

    • In my day job I work for a large chain of coffee shops and we waste a lot of food everyday. Problem is because some homeless people in the US sued companies who gave them free out of date food and then became ill, we're strictly not allowed to do it.

Most food is good for a couple of days past its use by date, especially if you properlly chill it. There was big business in the whole freetarian (skip diving) fad a couple of years ago, I can see it coming back round
