Crowd Blamed For Crush At Free Pop Concert 3:38pm UK, Sunday November 15, 2009 Damien Pearse, Sky News Online Council chiefs have blamed the "unprecedented" number of young pop fans who turned up at a free concert for a huge surge that left scores of people injured. Dramatic video footage showed hundreds of people breaking through a metal barrier as boy band JLS performed in Birmingham. Dozens of people at the front of the venue were crushed by the surging crowd and four were seriously hurt.

    • I think the most dissapointing part of this story is that they were crushed because of JLS. It seems strange as councils are usually so careful about health and safety and they let this one slip.

      Apparently they weren't expecting the 20,000+ people that attended which is a bit stupid considering the band have just had two number 1 singles
