Well put sumangall. While strategically he was never the best coach he was a great leader of men both on and off the field.

I'm a die-hard, bleed-the-pinstripes yankees fan and I still can't understand why Steinbrenner treats his employees the way he does. By making that statement before game 3, he screwed over the team and Torre for the rest of the playoffs. It's unfair and poor management. I know it's just the boss being the boss, but he went too far. You'll never find a more respected and loved skipper than Joe Torre. He's like a second father to a lot of the younger kids on the team--and one of Derek Jeter's mentors. After all the great memories and success, this is how he goes out....sad.

For those of you who missed the game, the Cleveland Indians beat the Yankees 6-4, winning the series 3 games to 1.
