World Cup Anyone? Pick a Side

So the title was a little tricky. We're talking Rugby here lads and mademoseilles (sorry high school french teacher forgot your name and how to spell that). Anyway I'm picking South Africa for one reason. No country, not even the US, has won the world cup back to back so why start now.

    • Why start now? The reason is simple - everyone loves an underdog, and going into this competition, England were (and still are) the underdogs.

      We are probably the worst world champions in rugby history. Since our triumphant win over the Aussies four long years ago, we've been terrible.

      Going into this competition it looked like nothing was going to change - the Springboks whipped us 36-0 in the pool stage. However, we've beaten the Aussies, the French (ahh that was sweet), and now it's time for us to defend our world title.

      If we do beat the Springboks 'bok' to South Africa, we will become the first ever nation to win two successive rugby world cup titles. Er ... no pressure then boys - "Swing low sweet chariot ..."
