LSU vs. Ohio State

It's time for the biggest game in college sports! The LSU Tigers take on the Ohio State Buckeyes today in what should be a fairly decent Championship game. With all the ups and downs in college football this year it is hard to say if these are the best two teams in the nation right now but they are both certainly worthy and deserving. Many people are picking LSU in this game with good cause. LSU has a great defense that comes up with big turnovers and have proven their ability to win in some pretty big time games.
However Ohio State isn't a huge underdog and could win this game if they ball rolls in their favor. Many people are simply looking to last years championship game as a way to measure this team which is pretty ironic. Since they lost last year the popular consensus is that this team will have the same problems (speed mostly) as they did against Florida last year. So whereas last year the Buckeyes were favorites they are now underdogs. This will just fuel their intesity as it did for Florida last year.
In the end LSU will win this game and the championship as I semi-predicted very early on in the year (http://current.com/items/77730441_florida_vs_lsu). The defense is solid, the offense is clutch and they are playing at home.

    • Illinois was making a comeback behind the mighty Juice Williams until a couple of bad breaks! But nonetheless...

    • LSU in a rout. The Big-10 continues to show how overrated it is (not that I'm a fan of all the SEC hype, but please, the Big-10 gets way more love than it deserves).

      Ohio St lost at home - in the 'shoe - to the Illinois team that was dismantled by USC as if they were some punk kids and 'SC was Tatiana the tiger. How did they end up in the title game other than waiting for the other teams ahead of them to lose? The BCS continues to be a sham.

      Oh and BTW - the coverage on Fox is terrible. I don't understand how a network that doesn't show ONE college football game all season long and then suddenly shows up for the BCS, expects to get it right. Just another reason to hate the BCS!
