Please, Pete - go back to the NFL and remind everyone that you were a crappy NFL coach that had to go to college to prove his worth.
Don't worry, when the Falcons spit you out, I'm sure some long forgotten past college power (see: Miami, Penn St) will be ready & waiting for you.
"USC coach Pete Carroll is interested in the Atlanta Falcons' head coach opening and is expected to speak with Atlanta owner Arthur Blank via phone Wednesday, sources at the American Football Coaches Convention in Anaheim told ESPN's Joe Schad.
Pete Carroll has been rumored for many head coaching vacancies in the NFL in recent years.
Blank is expected to offer full control of personnel decisions to Carroll and the sources said that is what intrigues Carroll most."

The LA Times is reporting that the Redskins are now in the mix. That's surprising since I thought they had a deal with the Asst Head Coach (Gregg Williams I think) that he would take over once Gibbs retired?

It will be a swift reminder that his rah rah style only plays well in college - not to multi-millionaire grown men.

I literaly jumped for joy when I saw that Jim Harbaugh beat him after his own boast earlier in the year.

This could happen but probably won't. Obviously Pete Carroll would have an opening to coach on any number of NFL teams (that need a coach) as he is arguably the best coach in the country. Most of HIS coaches could even find work in the pros as def/off coordinators and some have already made that jump. So if he wanted to go he could've gone by now and I just don't see the Falcons as a great opportunity for him. He'll be a Trojan next year and probably for many years to come.

Yea, I can't stand the guy either. Granted jsaraco, we've had our difference about the BCS but even tho i grew up in Ann Arbor and am a Meeeeeeeeechigan fan always, I am a Bruin too.
I'd love to see Pete Carroll go and not accomplish anything yet again in the NFL. At the end of the day he's a good recruiter and that's it. The reason his teams have succeeded is completely the responsibility of his coordinators (i.e., Norm Chow when 'SC was really in its heyday a few years back).
But it would also be nice to see him lose at USC too. Guess we'll just have to be satisfied with this year's loss to Stanford.
