Curt Schilling who has been very much a man who has pitched through everything from leading the Diamondbacks to their famed 2001 championship of glory, the bloody sock game that highlighted Boston's road to the 2004 World Series championship, now in a battle between his medical experts and the team that is paying him $8 million this upcoming season.
Does he take the $8 million and risk destroying his arm by not getting a recommended surgery?
Or does he take the expert medical opinion and get that surgery to fix his shoulder so he can pitch in the second half maybe, and next year?
If this was anyone else, this wouldn't be news... but for the Red Sox to pressure Curt into not getting the surgery or voiding his contract, that would be one of the myriads classy moves pulled by the Red Sox's money grubbing front office in the recent decade.
