Vancouver nixes international olympic torch relay

BEIJING - Vancouver's Olympic organizers won't conduct an international torch relay but may still make stops in some cities or places, including Paris, London and Vimy Ridge, John Furlong, the CEO of Vanoc said Thursday.

    • The 2004 and 2008 Olympics were the only ones to have a worldwide torch relay. Plus the winter Olympics aren't as big as the summer Olympics anyway. I don't think the recent protesting was a factor in this.
