Revive is the only Vitaminwater flavor that is directly affiliated with the NCAA, and it does not contained banned or impermissible substances.
Revive is the only Vitaminwater flavor that is directly affiliated with the NCAA, and it does not contained banned or impermissible substances.
The news came to light today after an e-mail, purportedly from Drug Free Sport, an organization that conducts drug testing for NCAA schools, found its way into the inboxes of athletic directors around the country. Drug Free sport denied sending the e-mail and referred calls to the NCAA.
NCAA officials could not be reached for comment.
In October, Coca-Cola inked a multiyear agreement to display Vitaminwater's Revive flavor on the sidelines during all college championship games. But only a month later, Vitaminwater was cited in a little-noted section on the NCAA website as producing six flavors containing banned or impermissible substances that could result in positive drug tests.

"An impermissible substance is not able to be provided by coaches or trainers to students, but players are able to purchase products with impermissible substances."
So... you can buy it and drink all you'd like.

Just a short commentary. B-Relaxed. Also, it doesn't have as much sugar as soda, it's actually less than half of the equivalent volume in coke. It's delicious, and funny, and that's why i like the brand. I don't drink more than one a day as to not become a fat ass or an addict... I save my addiction for other things.

Yes Vitamin Water is sugar filled, about on par with a soda. But it IS better than soda for you, so if you are going to drink something sweet, you might as well drink a Vitamin Water... and it has alot less sugar than Gatorade which is almost like a syrup when compared side by side... certainly not a health drink, but better than what the average american consumes..
and yes I am biased, I love Vitamin Water, and Revive is my favorite flavor...

I see so few comercials that I doubt it would have much effect on my life if I were to take them literally. In fact, I wasn't even sure those comercials were for this product, I was just hoping I had remembered correctly.

The Coca-Cola Company is being sued for making "deceptive and unsubstantiated claims" about its VitaminWater line of beverages, which it touts as healthy alternatives to sodas.
In fact, according to CSPI nutritionists, the 33 grams of sugar in each bottle of VitaminWater do more to promote obesity, diabetes and other health problems than the vitamins in the drinks do to perform the advertised benefits listed on the bottles.
VitaminWater is Coke's attempt to dress up soda in a physician's white coat. Underneath, it's still sugar water, although sugar water that costs about 10 bucks a gallon.

Yeah, well at least the cane sugar they use is a nice alternative to HFCS. Less sugar than soda, and a few vitamins to boot... It's not like Coca-Cola is claiming anything false -- it really is "vitamin sugar water". (Albeit not 100% DV of vitamins, but its not a Centrum nor advertised as such).

Cane sugar is sugar, which is the shit that helps rust you from the inside out - very unhealthy. Any vitamin benefits would be minimal at best without knowing their source.
And the worst part about it is that purchasers of this over priced crap are supporting a multi-national corporation interested only in profits - not your health or the environment.

Who would have thunk that Taurine, L-theanine, green-tea extract and glucosamine, "various" amino acids, protein powders and ginseng would be impermissible substances. I mean I suppose if they occurred in steroids / drugs. In a drink though?
