LeBron James: #23 should be "off-limits", vows to change his number for next season

LeBron James remarked after Thursday night's game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat that #23 should be off-limits to players in the NBA and that he will be changing his jersey number to #6 next season.

#23, of course, was the original player number worn by Michael Jordan during his first stint with the Chicago Bulls. Jordan stepped away from Basketball following his father's death, later returning to the Chicago Bulls and sporting the #45 instead.

    • Off-limits? Dude Lebron, I love you man, but thats just ridiculous. Why didn't Jordan say that about Julius Erving? No one thought that there would be a greater player than Erving, then Jordan came along. So now people think there won't be a better player than Jordan? Sorry LB, but there will be someone better than Jordan in the years to come.

If we keep doing this, no one will have numbers to play with.
