Jonathan Frakes and Genie Francis have entered the bar... Posted by Jim_Goldblum | Production Blog | MARCH 9, 2011

Okay, Jonathan Frakes might be the coolest guy I've ever met. I mean, look at this:

And here he is directing his wife, Genie Francis, for our photoshoot:

Or on the set:

And finally, headbanging with our esteemed Executive Producer Albie Hecht:

Dear Jonathan,

Don't ever leave us.

Thanks,

Jim

    • In one of the behind the scenes entries, where Frakes is leading the cast through the dry table read, Frakes mentions that the Diner is located in Roswell, New Mexico. Our patron's first line is, "One unidentified Fired Object, straight from the mothership!" Jim Goldblum told us that due to budget restraints, the pitches had to be set in New York. Were we lied to?

Considering none of the entries I read from storymaker had anything to do with Roswell New Mexico, I am beginning to wonder how much substance from the Storymaker pitches made it into the episode. Are we being led through the process with little to none of our ideas actually making it on screen?

Are these episodes being written way in advance of the pitches even being submitted? Why were we lied to about location restrictions? I think you guys just epic failed by showing us that table read. I am beginning to realize that this community development thing isn't working out the way everyone envisioned it to.

    • These vids are extremely instructive. Just these small insights into the details of how this creative process is working really helps calibrate how, and which, ideas will be packaged and presented. The advice and request for more specific detail was just golden! Thx so much and pls keep these vids coming - the light they shed cannot be overstated.
