We need your help getting the word out about the Bar Karma premiere (which happens February 11th at 10EST/7PST, but you knew that, right?)

So here’s the question: who should we be connecting with? Which websites and online communities should we be targeting? Who would prove most valuable in spreading the word about the premiere? You decide how to help our marketers spread the karma!

Anyone who watches SyFy channel regularly should be interested. Also, you might get a decent following from the former followers of legend of the seeker that was canceled after 2 seasons. There are several twitter feeds devoted to their mourning. #legendoftheseeker #mordsith #motherconfessor and others.

If you have a standard tweet (with a link to a trailer) to send out, I'd be happy to put it out in as many places as I can think will be fruitful.

People love to brag about their special places. Create a Facebook event and/or app* and invite Facebook users to nominate their favorite neighborhood bar for a contest. "Tell us in 25 (??) words or less what makes your local bar special." Focus on cool, local, neighborhood places. Winners (chosen by producers) get a Bar Karma Watch Party on 2/11 which is basically just a regular night at the bar, but the... more

I think this is something that depending on how much budget we have for advertising, we could tackle pretty head on. If you ask which websites and online communities we should target, then we could base it on the ones that have the most traffic. The following is a link of the most popular sites by traffic:

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but by far one of the most useful ways to advertise, would be to hype up Bar Karma in places on the web to do with Jersey Shore, the tv show. They often frequent a bar during that show, called Karma. Many people will find out about Bar Karma from the traffic generated by Jersey Shore.

You should try and get the video game sites like G4 and ign to advertise your show. People visiting those sights will understand and appreciate the phrase from the creator of the Sims more than anyone else. And also i know a bunch of guys who visit those sites and they would totally be into that kind of stuff

Jim, if possible, I would like it if there was some sort of "Official Flier" for Bar Karma that you could provide to us via a link as a pdf file that we could download. I would gladly post them on the message boards of every college campus around my area as well as other places that specialize on tv shows, writing groups, etc.

i like to create new ideas for this show while Dr Who plays on my flat screen like "background music" for my mind.....may sound weird.....but it is like playing classical music or great rock like Pink Floyd while painting a picture within my creative process....

there are lots of Dr Who sites for fans and memorabilia etc..... just something to consider

    Ideas for marketing Bar Karma:

    1) Add a Bar Karma group in Second Life and add fans to it. Host a meetup in Second Life.
    2) Tie the Second Life group to the Facebook page and group
    3) Encourage fan sites and blogs that link back to the Creation Studios
    4) Offer incentives for participation by other social networks - karma awards, Stupid Fun Bucks, etc.
    5) Hold a contest in Facebook... more

I promise my idea would be the same regardless of whether or not Will was involved...

How about some sort of 'game' whit hooks to social media to facilitate 'viralness.' Given the timeframe, I know it would need to be 'simple' in terms of programming, but engaging enough to get some chatter going. Perhaps doing something as 'simple' as guiding users through a mystery... more

Create a free download area for banners/links, desktops/smartphone wallpapers, screensavers, Twiiter themes, Myspace themes and such. Make it easy like Twiiter, Paypal & Facebook buttons/link to put on blogs and websites.

Also, try to get bloggers to write about it. Maybe send them a link to a couple of minutes of exclusive footage from the pilot.

Create a vehicle wrap (or several) that promotes the show as well as public service message (i.e Don't Drink & Drive... watch Bar Karma instead). Perhaps have Bar Karma paper coasters printed and shipped to bars across the country.

How about hiring a street team for the Super Bowl. Give away Bar Karma t-shirts and wave signs (maybe tie them into the teams). Might get picked up by local media or sports outlets.
