I think the DVR is a good point of discussion and linking it to the pitches for the marketing department. For the shows I record, I am buring right through the commercials on fast forward. This gives great credence to highly integrated marketing. Viewers can't fast forward for fear of missing something. I do strongly caution that given this there is a thin line of going overboard.
Definitely up against Warehouse 13 as was said as you get sci-fi with some fun in it as well and some very definite references to historical type plot elements. Is there more room? I say yes especially with a strong showing of characterization of the main characters.
