This challenge is all about identifying the competition. Tell us what other TV shows, websites, or video games are vying for the same audience that Creation Studios is after. Are the user experiences similar? Or simply the idea of creating something in a community-influenced way? Who can we learn from, and who should we watch out for? Don’t forget to vote for your favorite pitches in this challenge—all you have to do is click the blue “recommend” button.

As others have mentioned there's Warehouse 13. Chuck, and Fringe are other major contenders for the likely audience of Bar Karma.

I think the DVR is a good point of discussion and linking it to the pitches for the marketing department. For the shows I record, I am buring right through the commercials on fast forward. This gives great credence to highly integrated marketing. Viewers can't fast forward for fear of missing something. I do strongly caution that given this there is a thin line of going overboard.

IMO, I think most people watch and do everything they want without making choices.

With the technololgy we have to today with DVR and online video streaming, google TV, etc -- we do not need to make choices.

If people like Bar Karma, they will not choose another show over Bar Karma, they will watch the episode when they have time.

We're up against the status quo. With a consumer pressed for time, a million different things to watch, learn, connect with and explore, we don't always have time for one more show in our queue. What do I give up to make room for Bar Karma? Asking someone to make this choice puts a lot of different things into competition with us and as a result...forces us to try to make it all that better. Any ideas you have to make it better, easier to engage with, or areas we might be missing... let me know. We want to be so good that everyone will make space for us in their busy queue.

I think the ending of a few shows in the last few years (lost, heroes) has really started a void in new episodes we could be filling. But shows like No ordinary family and the Event are stepping into that void.
That is in my opinion where the absolute uniqueness of this project comes into play.
The Fans of lost and Heroes had, and still have, massive fan sites.
    The heroes 360/evolutions experience,... more

I think we need to watch out for Eureka and Warehouse 13 (both on SyFy channel). These 2 shows seem like they would cater to the same crowd as Bar Karma does.
