In July, while on the East Coast for the New Music Seminar in New York, RFWtv made a visit to the Vans Warped Tour stop in New Jersey. We had a chance to chat with creator Kevin Lyman and several artists including Alexisonfire. This five piece band, now in it's 8 year, has purposefully tailored their albums to be different, and continue to find growth as musician with each of their individual, respective side projects. Beijing International Music Festival, an annual cultural event in Beijing's calendar, is known for its continued efforts in promoting classical music. And the preparation for its 12th event officially stepped up on Tuesday.
Opening on October 10th, the festival will run for one month with twenty-one scheduled classical performances by musicians and orchestras from the US, Finland, Germany and Australia.
This year's center-piece, opera 'Macbeth', produced by Finland's Savonlinna Opera Festival, will be the opening performance of the classical music events. Opera 'Macbeth', based on Shakespeare's namesake tragedy, was composed by Italian music great Verdi.
Leading the lineup are star musicians including world-renowned pianists Gary Graffman, Vladimir Ashkenazy and popular young violinist Sarah Chang. Gary Graffman is known to Chinese audiences for training Chinese pianist Lang Lang.
The headline performance for the closing ceremony will be a commemorative concert for the 30th anniversary of Oscar-winning documentary 'From Mao to Mozart'. “Anacortes?” “Yeah, The Lonely Forest!” is what we hope comes to mind if you’re already True or avid on discovering or following the new age of the World Famous Pacific NW Music Scene. If your means are to live by all that is real, not plastic, not political but most of all Grounded; Then listen to this band, for there is not yet vocabulary in existence that best describes these guys, their sound and their outlook. "OUR" outlook would be better, yet one day at a time. If an album could change Material Society and False image into Frugal Reality and All That Is Good, “We Sing The Body Electric” it is over-and-again, till the world’s character defect’s and ignorant mindsets are gone.

Dozens of partygoers were hit with charges and police seized a range of drugs during the Field Day music festival in Sydney's Domain yesterday.
Police at the festival seized MDMA, or ecstasy, and cannabis, amphetamines, cocaine, LSD, and GHB, police said.

We'd like to thank the bands and talent for their participation in this years EuroRock Peace Full Sail grand finale gig for world peace in Melbourne Florida at the Metro that wrapped up our EuroRock2008 world tour for peace.
Our Program
Our program for peace is simple. We put together people from all over the world to show people we can all get along, despite our differences of music, country, color, religion, looks or whatever...Countries this year were Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, UK, Canada, USA.
Putting many different people together, especially on a boat, is extremely challenging since many things can go wrong. And they have, but we were able to work things out, or change to accommodate the differences, and in the end, it becomes more beneficial for everyone to make some concessions which eventually takes our lives to a higher level.
Grammy Awards
Two of our songs have been entered into the Grammy's this year: Swiss on Peace by Swiss Chris, who, himself has been responsible for Grammy winning music while working as Music Director and Drummer for John Legend. And Kreigergottes "Refugee", a song about the refugees we witnessed being apprehended by the law, some near death, some already passed. The video is part of our collection here on CURRENT. Also, the raw footage of what we witnessed as well as the police hasleing us and confiscating our cameras, one of which they missed, otherwise we wouldn't have it to show! Kreigergottes is headed by Detlef Kowelewski, a former band member that opened most of the Iron Maiden concerts in Europe and he, himself has had several European hits. Detlef, besides being the Peace Full Sail "Skipper", is one of the most sought after tattoo artists in Europe and an excellent producer of Rock and Roll with some cool credits.
"Triggering" Technology
Swiss' style and technology are cutting edge as you will see him play with drumsticks that light up, and when the stage is darkened, its a sight to see these sticks flying thru the air as he plays. We have it all on our film here. Moreover, Swiss uses a technology called "Triggering" as he triggers video and audio with his sticks as he plays causing snippets of short phrases, singing, instruments as well as video of news, historic figures and other interesting video and fx. You'll hear some of the triggering on our film here as he does his audio triggering. All this is tech is mostly in Part 2, so don't miss it! (Also the Kreigergottes Jam rock band is there, another not miss opportunity)

The Peace Full Sail crew will be sailing from Spain to LA starting this December to be at the Grammys-just in case! We will be stopping in the Caribbean, Panama, Mexico and others in between on our way to the states. For 2009 we have bands and members from Italy, Iran, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, USA, UK and more coming. We also have a news caster on board that is very popular in Europe.
