Each of the 13 official Sniper attacks were brutal and gruesome. Each of the victims were innocent. They were each minding their own business, pumping gas, going to the store, etc.. However, there was one shooting in particular that evoked especially strong emotional reactions. When a 13 year old boy was shot while being dropped off at school, fear intensified. The inhumanity that would allow someone to shoot a child at random was shockingly horrific. This was a killer with no regard for human life, and complete and utter indifference to the innocence of childhood. Montgomery County's then Chief of Police, Charles Moose was even brought to tears as he addressed the media following the shooting of the teenager. The young man's name is Iran Brown, and the linked article provides an in-depth account of his remarkable survival story.http://abcnews.go.com/Primetime/story?id=132013&page=1

Scott Roeder has confessed to the shooting of a Kansas abortion provider.
The 51-year-old Kansas City, Mo., man told The Associated Press in a telephone call from jail Monday that he plans to use the so-called necessity defense at his trial.
Roeder contends the killing of Dr. George Tiller in May at a Wichita church was justified to protect the lives of unborn children.
His confession comes as abortion opponents across the nation release a new "Defensive Action Statement" arguing for the same force to protect the unborn as is justified to protect born children. The 21 signers want jurors to be allowed to consider that defense at Roeder's Jan. 11 trial.
Among the signers are Eric Rudolph, James Kopp and Shelley Shannon — all serving prison time for targeting abortion doctors.

Army Major Malik Nadal Hasan has been identified as one of the shooters involved in the Fort Hood massacre that killed at least 12 people and wounded other 31 on Thursday (November 5)
Seven people are dead and other 20 were wounded in a mass shooting at Fort Hood, which is one of the largest military complexes in the world, in Texas on Thursday (November 5)
UPDATE: General Bob Cone is now saying that the shooter Nidal Malik Hasan is alive and in custody. Among the dead are two civilians. One of Hasan's guns is reportedly a semi-automatic weapon. The female first responder who took Hasan down and was originally thought to be dead, is alive after surgery.
The gunman, identified as Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, was wounded multiple times at the scene but was captured alive and was in stable condition, Lt. Gen. Robert W. Cone, commanding general of the Army’s III Corps, said at a press conference late Thursday.
Eleven of the victims died at the scene, military officials said. A 12th died later at a hospital, NBC station KCEN-TV of Waco reported. Cone said that most of those who were shot were military but two were civilians.
Cone also said that a female first responder shot Hasan and was herself wounded and was being treated in a hospital. Cone said that Hasan was in custody at a hospital and that his death was not imminent.(http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/05/fort-hood-shootings-7-dea_n_347366.html)... more
CNN’s Lou Dobbs has reported recently that a gunman fired a shot at his home while his wife was outside the home and entering her automobile. Dobbs stated that the mass media and pro-immigration groups such as LULAC and the National Council of La Raza have “created an atmosphere and they’ve been unrelenting in their propaganda” against him, a statement that appears to connect their activities and the life-threatening attack against his family. The shot was not an isolated event; it “followed weeks and weeks of threatening phone calls.”
As pointed out by NewsBusters author Jeff Poor, the Obama administration has been alerting the nation to their perceived threat that conservative rhetoric could lead to violence. But the attack on the Dobbs family reveals a very real threat that Liberal rhetoric also may instigate violence against individuals speaking out against the Obama administration policies.
Given these facts, one would assume that Dobbs’ assertion would be headline news—at the very least at CNN. Yet a visit to CNN.com homepage found no references to the events. What’s more, a search within the CNN pages returned not a single article on the attack. Think about that: one of CNN’s premier anchors and managing editors received death threats and even had a shot fired at his home, yet CNN did not apparently find that noteworthy!
While the attack on Dobbs is both concerning and shocking, CNN’s silence on the issue is stunning.CNN’s Lou Dobbs has reported recently that a gunman fired a shot at his home while... more
One man was shot to death and several others were arrested Wednesday in an FBI raid in Dearborn.
All of the suspects surrendered peacefully during a raid at a warehouse at Michigan Avenue and Miller, except for the alleged ringleader, Luqman Ameen Abdullah. He fired his weapon and was shot and killed by FBI agents. A dog was also killed.
Seven suspects are in custody and three are on the loose. The suspects are facing federal charges for conspiracy to commit a number of federal crimes including theft from interstate shipments, mail fraud, tampering with a motor vehicle and illegal possession and sale of firearms.
Investigators say the suspects are part of a radical muslim convert group called "Ummah" which stands for "The Brotherhood." They are accused of engaging in very violent activities over the years.
The Ummah was originally headed by Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, formerly known as H. Rapp Brown. He is serving a prison sentence for the murder of two police officers in Georgia. He was also reportedly part of the "Black Panther" group back in the 1960s and '70s.
Mujahid Carswell, Mohammad Alsahi and Yassir Ali Khan are still at large.

DENVER – Parents and survivors of the 1999 massacre at Columbine High School are saying good things about an essay released Tuesday by the mother of shooter Dylan Klebold.
Susan Klebold made the most detailed public remarks by any parent of the two Columbine killers in an essay published in O, The Oprah Magazine. She said in the essay she had "no inkling" her son was suicidal or depressed.
The essay sparked strong emotions for Connie Michalik, whose son, Richard Castaldo, was shot and partially paralyzed in the rampage. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris killed 12 students and a teacher and wounded 23 others before killing themselves.
The shooters' parents have said little in public since the massacre. They gave depositions in a lawsuit filed by victims' families, but a judge in 2007 ordered those depositions sealed for 20 years after the case was settled out of court.
Survivors and their families have been left wondering about the boys' parents in the decade since the shootings.
"You know, I always wondered how she felt and what she went through. 'Cause I know I went through a living hell, and I was always sure she did, too," Michalik told The Associated Press.
Michalik, who has never met Susan Klebold, said reading the essay answered some of her questions about the Klebold family.
"I applaud her for the courage to talk about this," Michalik said Tuesday.
In the essay, Susan Klebold described the day of the shooting. She at first feared Dylan had been shot at school, not that he was one of the perpetrators.
Susan Klebold said the family was evacuated from their home the afternoon of the massacre because authorities feared even Dylan's residence may have been rigged to explode. Still, she said, it took months for relatives to accept that the quiet boy who loved origami and Legos was to blame for the violence.
"We didn't know that he and Eric had assembled an arsenal of explosives and guns," Susan Klebold wrote. "We believed his participation in the massacre was accidental or that he had been coerced. We believed that he did not intend to hurt anyone."
The magazine released excerpts from the essay last week and published the full text Tuesday.
A magazine spokeswoman said Susan Klebold has turned down several interview requests over the years but agreed several months ago to share an essay. There were no plans for her to appear on the show.
In an introduction to the essay, Oprah Winfrey told readers, "Since the day her son participated in the most devastating high school shooting America has ever seen, I have wanted to sit down with Susan Klebold to ask her the questions we've all wanted to ask — starting with, 'How did you not see it coming?' and ending with 'How did you survive?'"
A spokeswoman for Susan Klebold has said there would be no further comment.
One of the shooting's survivors, Krystal Miller, said Tuesday she has long had questions for the Klebolds but understood their silence.
"Over the years I would've loved to hear something," said Miller, whose maiden name was Krystal Woodman. "But it sounds like she is still just reeling from it and processing it. So how is someone supposed to come out and give answers when they're still trying to figure it out themselves?"DENVER – Parents and survivors of the 1999 massacre at Columbine High School are... more

Federal agents opened fire Tuesday on three vans carrying at least 70 people suspected of being illegal immigrants when the drivers of the vehicles tried to crash through a California border crossing that is considered the busiest such crossing in the world, officials said. Four people were injured.
The border was closed for several hours after the incident, which occurred at around 3:25 p.m. local time at the San Ysidro crossing. Federal immigration and customs agents fired their guns during the incident, officials said. Three passengers in the van were injured and taken to local hospitals, and a passenger in a separate vehicle was also injured. No agents were hurt, and none of the injuries were considered life-threatening.
