The Dwarves are a San Francisco punk rock band that are known for being bad boys. They like to drink, talk smack and play fast, abrasive music. They were kicked off their label, SubPop, because their guitar player, HeWhoCannotBeNamed, wanted out and so the band faked his death. He turned up in Philadelphia a few weeks later not dead. Gearhead magazine has been in print for many years. You wouldn't know it from the issues printed. As of this writing they are at issue #15. Hmph. They are also a record label specializing in punk rock mostly. Most of the people that read this magazine work on their own cars. Mostly known for its Rolling Stones concert in 1969 where the Hell's Angels were the security guards and one guy died, Altamont is a great little race track. They have a few configurations including 1/4 mile oval, 1/2 mile oval and "road course." They also do monster trucks and motocross on occasion.
