Corporate media does it’s best to keep you uninformed...
The mainstream media is running a 24 hour news cycle focusing purely on the BP oil spill, a disaster, as we have shown, that is being intentionally hyped in order to sell cap and trade legislation and moves to nationalize big business.
In the wake of this, big important news stories are being overlooked. Here are just some of the stories, in no particular order, that you should be hearing on the nightly news, but of course, are not.
1. Israeli nuclear submarines positioned close to Iran:
Three German-built Israeli submarines equipped with nuclear cruise missiles are to be deployed in the Gulf near the Iranian coastline.
The first has been sent in response to Israeli fears that ballistic missiles developed by Iran, Syria and Hezbollah, a political and military organisation in Lebanon, could hit sites in Israel, including air bases and missile launchers.
The submarines of Flotilla 7 — Dolphin, Tekuma and Leviathan — have visited the Gulf before. But the decision has now been taken to ensure a permanent presence of at least one of the vessels.
**
2. Iran war propaganda:
US intelligence has shown Iran could launch an attack against Europe with “scores or hundreds” of missiles, prompting major changes to US missile defenses, Pentagon chief Robert Gates said on Thursday.
The anti-Iran rhetoric has amplified following the revelation that many Bilderberg members, including Zbigniew Brzezinski, are now in favor of U.S. air strikes on Iran and are “leaning towards war,”.
“Some of them in Europe are saying no we shouldn’t do it but most of them are in favor of American air strikes on Iran,” Bilderberg sluth Jim Tucker relayed from the recent meeting in Spain. “They’re tilting heavily towards green lighting a U.S. attack on Iran.”
**
3. The continuing economic slide:
The greatest bankster heist in history and the looming greatest depression rumbles on.
Gold has hit record highs as the dollar slumps and the Euro continues to face complete collapse. Unemployment figures in the U.S. are through the roof and U.S. consumer prices posted their largest fall in nearly 1-1/2 years in May.
Rumours in Europe persist regarding an impending bailout for spain, while Russia says it is ready to found a “new economic world order“.
**
4. FCC ready to restrict the Internet:
The federal government would have “absolute power” to shut down the Internet under the terms of a new US Senate bill being pushed by Joe Lieberman, legislation which would hand President Obama a figurative “kill switch” to seize control of the world wide web in response to a Homeland Security directive.
Lieberman has been pushing for government regulation of the Internet for years under the guise of cybersecurity, but this new bill goes even further in handing emergency powers over to the feds which could be used to silence free speech under the pretext of a national emergency.
5. Obama/Blagojevich story
As the Blagojevich trial continues and important details emerge, linking Obama to possible political corruption, Federal prosecutors are seeking a gag order to keep the ex-Governor and his lawyers from making public comments.
**
6. UN small arms treaty
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recently announced that the Obama Administration would be working hand in glove with the U.N. to pass a new “Small Arms Treaty.”
Congressman Paul Broun warns that, “With willing one-world accomplices in Washington, D.C., gun-grabbers around the globe believe they have it made.” Broun characterizes the U.N.’s Small Arms Treaty as “nothing more than a massive, GLOBAL gun control scheme.”
The treaty would force national governments to acquiesce to a global gun registry, while strengthening licensing procedures so as to make it almost impossible for a citizen to legally purchase a gun. It would also ban the private sale of semi-automatic weapons and ultimately lead to the confiscation and destruction of all “unauthorized” firearms owned by citizens.
By encapsulating the gun grab within a treaty, the Obama administration could claim that no Senate approval is needed to authorize any such move against the right to bear arms – although whether a treaty trumps the Constitution is a very murky area of debate.
**
7. Mexicans riot in LA/Land given over to Mexico
Violent scenes following the LA Lakers’ championship-clinching win over the Boston Celtics in the NBA finals saw angry mobs smashing their way through the streets waving Mexican flags as they went.
Meanwhile, a massive stretch of Arizona has become effectively off limits to Americans, Prompting questions over whether the Obama administration is giving a major strip of the south-west back to Mexico.
**
8. Obama Plans To Sneak Through Carbon Tax By Stealth
President Obama is planning to sneak through his job-killing, economy wrecking carbon tax by stealth according to the Washington Post, by passing a weakened bill and then adding in cap and trade provisions after the heat is off following the November elections.
Described as the “lame duck climate strategy,” Obama is planning to secure enough votes in the Senate to pass a weakened energy bill and then drag out the conference long enough to ensure the stronger provisions contained in the original House version are added “after lawmakers have faced voters in November, thereby cushioning the vote’s political impact.”
**
9. Afghanistan Mineral Riches Story Is War Propaganda
News that the U.S. has suddenly discovered $1 trillion-worth of mineral deposits in Afghanistan, and descriptions of the bounty as a “game changer” by the corporate media, represent nothing more than crude war propaganda designed to reinvigorate public support for a failing and ever more pointless occupation.
The “newly discovered” riches have been known about since the 1970s and further revelations indicate that the Pentagon report cited by the New York Times as their source for the story did not even mention the untapped mineral deposits in Afghanistan.

10. Free Speech Gag Bill Moving in House
H.R. 5175, The so-called DISCLOSE Act would severely limit the ability of political groups to communicate to their members and the general public.
Politico reports that , the NRA bargained for an exemption for itself and other large, established groups while trampling the rights of private citizens, new political groups, like Ron Paul’s Campaign for Liberty, and other small organizations.
As John Bresnahan reports, “The proposal would exempt organizations that have more than 1 million members, have been in existence for more than 10 years, have members in all 50 states and raise 15 percent or less of their funds from corporations… The NRA, with 4 million members, will not actively oppose the DISCLOSE Act, according to Democratic sources.”Corporate media does it’s best to keep you uninformed...

Saudi Arabia has conducted tests to stand down its air defences to enable Israeli jets to make a bombing raid on Iran’s nuclear facilities, The Times can reveal.
In the week that the UN Security Council imposed a new round of sanctions on Tehran, defence sources in the Gulf say that Riyadh has agreed to allow Israel to use a narrow corridor of its airspace in the north of the country to shorten the distance for a bombing run on Iran.
To ensure the Israeli bombers pass unmolested, Riyadh has carried out tests to make certain its own jets are not scrambled and missile defence systems not activated. Once the Israelis are through, the kingdom’s air defences will return to full alert.
“The Saudis have given their permission for the Israelis to pass over and they will look the other way,” said a US defence source in the area. “They have already done tests to make sure their own jets aren’t scrambled and no one gets shot down. This has all been done with the agreement of the [US] State Department.”
Sources in Saudi Arabia say it is common knowledge within defence circles in the kingdom that an arrangement is in place if Israel decides to launch the raid. Despite the tension between the two governments, they share a mutual loathing of the regime in Tehran and a common fear of Iran’s nuclear ambitions. “We all know this. We will let them [the Israelis] through and see nothing,” said one.
The four main targets for any raid on Iran would be the uranium enrichment facilities at Natanz and Qom, the gas storage development at Isfahan and the heavy-water reactor at Arak. Secondary targets include the lightwater reactor at Bushehr, which could produce weapons-grade plutonium when complete.

“STOLEN NUKES,” MISSING WMD’S THAT CAUSED IRAQ WAR IN ISRAEL ALL ALONG
ISRAELI “ROGUE NUKES” USED TO JUSTFY GLOBAL “CRIME SPREE”
By Gordon Duff STAFF WRITER/Senior Editor
In a long secret “lost nuke” scenario dating back to 1991 and involving Israel, South Africa, Britain, Oman and the U.S., Israel claims “self defense” in attacking ships in international waters today, killing 16. These secret nuclear weapons hijacked after shipment from South Africa have torn the world apart for nearly two decades. If you ever wondered why and what while watching the world tear itself apart, this is what was being kept from you, a lie within a lie.
Just after the humanitarian flotilla departed for Gaza, Israel informed the US and Britain that the convoy was ferrying stolen nuclear weapons that would be used for a terrorist attack on Israel. The “stolen nukes” have been in Israel for 18 years while the US has spent billions of dollars and thousands of lives looking for them. Today 16 more died.
Meanwhile, three Israel’s German built, “nuclear armed” submarines sit off Iran today, they believe covered by this same deception. This was also the rationale for other acts to isolate Palestinians including walling off hundreds of thousands in a virtual prison in Gaza, walls built and designed by the US Army Corps of Engineers, walls that America should have on its own southern border.
MISSING NUKES CONFIRMED, STOLEN BY ISRAEL, NOT SADDAM
The story involves real missing nuclear weapons. That has been confirmed. Built in South Africa by Israel, these 3 stolen nukes represent all that is left of the nuclear arsenal apartheid South Africa threatened the world with. Though the weapons may be “technically” missing, the massive undercurrent of secrecy and deception behind this global threat is pure fantasy, fantasy and nightmare. Hijacked from Oman in 1991, these are the nukes Israel said were shipped to Syria by Iraq to escape US forces advancing on Baghdad back in 2003. Israel knew they were never sold to Iraq, not unless Israel had done the selling themselves.
Israel’s fantasy about the transfer of these weapons to Syria by Saddam during the 2003 US invasion of Iraq was meant to push for an invasion of Syria under the guise of “chasing WMD’s.” Israel informed the US that terrorists working with Syria were planning to move these nukes, again via ambulance, into Israel and were planning to set one of them off in Haifa. This “lost nuke” claim has been repeated by Israel numerous times over the years in varied scenarios, each more false than the last. Through “back channels,” Tel Aviv will again claim “self defense” as the rationale for this latest attack, an act of piracy against the humanitarian convoy heading to Gaza.
It is also said that Israel has used the threat of these lost nukes to block inquiries into their possible role in 9/11.
OH, THE WEBS WE WEAVE WHEN AT FIRST WE DECIDE TO DECEIVE…
The story is a long scenario of plots involving the murder of British weapons specialist David Kelly along with a number of legal inquiries and maneuvers in Britain to cover the tracks of what happened to these nukes, a cover up that continues to this day. A “Bent Arrow” nuclear blunder at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana was meant to provide cover for Israel by illegally shipping 6 cruise missile-mounted nukes to Diego Garcia while reporting them for “demat” disassembly. The moment those nukes were loaded onto a B-52, still attached to cruise missiles, America went “rogue” for Israel. Some lies can live forever.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
The claim that “lost nukes” are aboard the humanitarian flotilla that was just savaged off Gaza is part of a Mossad deception that started years ago. Part of the story was broken by The Guardian when this British paper released documents showing military cooperation between South Africa and Israel with Tel Aviv agreeing to provide nuclear weapons to Pretoria while South Africa was under sanctions for its apartheid policies. By 1975, Israel had already built as many as 50 plutonium bombs at its Dimona reactor opened in 1962. In 1963, President Kennedy demanded they close what he called a “weapons facility.” He was murdered soon after. No other American president has mentioned Dimona since.
Mordechai Vanunu, a scientist there, reported this in a British newspaper. His descriptions of processes were backed by leading nuclear weapon experts, U.S. and British nuclear weapons designers Theodore Taylor and Frank Barnaby. Vanunu was kidnapped in Rome and imprisoned in Israel, 11 of 18 years in solitary confinement and is still being held under gag order. You can be convicted there of treason for spreading “rumors.” Early on, Israel decided to turn their “secret” nuclear status into a profit making business, covered from nonproliferation sanctions by their “special relationship” with the United States.
Few know this but “officially” South Africa built 6 nuclear weapons with the illegal aid of Israel. In fact Israel helped South Africa develop not only nuclear weapons but chemical and biological agents as well. Some of the “germ warfare” agents were used in Angola by SADF troops. Other weapons developed there, such as BZ “hallucinogenic gas” were sold to the US and used against the Iraqi Republican Guard. This was reported by the South African Truth Commission after the presentation of documents and scientific testimony backing the claim. Weapons resulting from this partnership were even sold to Libya and Iran.
THE BIG SECRET, 10 BOMBS BUILT, NOT 6
South Africa, really Israel, built 10 nukes, not the widely believed six. One was tested in the Indian Ocean by Israel and South Africa in September 1979. The test was spotted by US “VELA” satellites that identified the classic “double flash” of a nuclear weapons and was confirmed by acoustic sensors. The Carter administration covered this up as it was thought to be a danger to the Camp David peace accords that won for President Carter a Nobel Peace Prize.
This left 9 remaining nukes. Fearing control of nuclear weapons by “Africans,” the Whites Only South African government agreed to ship the 9 weapons to the US for disposal. Records of the UN inspection team exist along with the accords reached after inspecting the Pelindaba weapons facility in 1990. Just this month President Obama officially thanked the South African government for this act. However, three of the nukes were sidetracked by Britain, as we have been informed by high level sources. These three nukes are what everything is all about, certainly the Iraq invasion, the war on terror and the massive security measures, although catastrophically inept, taken by the United States.

Secret South African documents reveal that Israel offered to sell nuclear warheads to the apartheid regime, providing the first official documentary evidence of the state's possession of nuclear weapons.
The "top secret" minutes of meetings between senior officials from the two countries in 1975 show that South Africa's defence minister, PW Botha, asked for the warheads and Shimon Peres, then Israel's defence minister and now its president, responded by offering them "in three sizes". The two men also signed a broad-ranging agreement governing military ties between the two countries that included a clause declaring that "the very existence of this agreement" was to remain secret.
The documents, uncovered by an American academic, Sasha Polakow-Suransky, in research for a book on the close relationship between the two countries, provide evidence that Israel has nuclear weapons despite its policy of "ambiguity" in neither confirming nor denying their existence.
The Israeli authorities tried to stop South Africa's post-apartheid government declassifying the documents at Polakow-Suransky's request and the revelations will be an embarrassment, particularly as this week's nuclear non-proliferation talks in New York focus on the Middle East.
They will also undermine Israel's attempts to suggest that, if it has nuclear weapons, it is a "responsible" power that would not misuse them, whereas countries such as Iran cannot be trusted.
South African documents show that the apartheid-era military wanted the missiles as a deterrent and for potential strikes against neighbouring states.
The documents show both sides met on 31 March 1975. Polakow-Suransky writes in his book published in the US this week, The Unspoken Alliance: Israel's secret alliance with apartheid South Africa. At the talks Israeli officials "formally offered to sell South Africa some of the nuclear-capable Jericho missiles in its arsenal".Secret South African documents reveal that Israel offered to sell nuclear warheads to... more

Mordechai Vanunu, the Israeli former nuclear technician who gained fame for serving 18 years for disclosing atomic secrets to a British newspaper, has begun a three-month jail sentence for violating the terms of his release, judicial sources have said.
An Israeli court had in December sentenced Vanunu to serve three months community service or three months in prison, for violating the terms of his release from prison in 2004.
Vanunu was jailed in 1986 for disclosing the inner workings of Israel's Dimona nuclear plant to Britain's Sunday Times newspaper. Since his release in 2004, he has been detained several times for violating the terms of his release that ban him from travel or contact with foreigners.
Israel has restricted his movements and personal contacts since he finished his first jail term. Israeli authorities argue that Vanunu could leak new details on his past work at the Dimona nuclear reactor.
But Vanunu, a convert from Judaism to Christianity, denies charges that he has more classified information that he can leak if he is allowed to emigrate.
Israel is widely believed to be the only nuclear-armed power in the Middle East, with around 200 warheads, but it has a policy of neither confirming nor denying that. It has refused to sign the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty or to allow international surveillance of Dimona in the southern Negev desert.
"Shame on you, Israel, and the stupid Shin Bet and Mossad spies who are returning me to jail after 24 years in which I have spoken only the truth," Vanunu shouted in court before being led away, referring to Israel's internal security arm and its international spy service."
"Freedom is a basic part of human rights. I am not an animal. You punished me in the past, but I cannot accept a violation of my freedom of expression."

Most Americans believe that the massive nuclear arsenal that the U.S. military accumulated during the Cold War is still sitting there today - silently protecting them as they pursue the American Dream. But that is NOT the case. In fact, the United States currently only has a small fraction of the nuclear warheads that it did during the 1960s and the 1970s, and Barack Obama wants to make further substantial cuts. If you are an American, what you are about to read should seriously upset you. The weapons that have protected our freedom since the end of World War II are rapidly being dismantled at a time when the geopolitical situation around the world is becoming increasingly unstable. Iran is feverishly working on developing nuclear weapons, North Korea already has them and it is only a matter of time until terrorists get their hands on some, and yet Barack Obama keeps insisting that radical nuclear disarmament is a great idea and nobody out there (including the Republicans) is putting up much of an objection. Most Americans believe that the massive nuclear arsenal that the U.S. military... more

25 April 2010 Iranian President Ahmadinejad flouted any more UN sanctions on his nuclear program as illegal, insisting he will not submit to any such pressure based on the US and Britain “lying” about the evidence.
The Iranian leader, wrapping up two days of talks with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, lambasted the Western allies for pressing for another round of U.N. Security Council sanctions against Iran.
Ahmadinejad let loose when asked by an Associated Press reporter to discuss his effort to evade more U.N. sanctions by meeting with Uganda, a non-permanent member of the 15-nation council. The council is preparing to consider a fourth round of sanctions on Tehran for its nuclear defiance.
“The nuclear issue of Iran has turned into a big test for the entire world,” Ahmadinejad said, adding that the U.S. and Britain “say they are concerned about the building of a nuclear bomb, but they are lying like the other previous lies.”
He was referring to unsubstantiated U.S. claims that Saddam Hussein’s regime had weapons of mass destruction, a key Bush administration rationale for the 2003 Iraq war. An exhaustive search turned up no nuclear, chemical or biological weapons or any evidence there was an active program to develop it.
“The measures that have been taken or are going to be taken by the United States and its allies in the U.N. Security Council lack the legal validity,” Ahmadinejad said. “We do not submit, and we do not accept any kind of pressures. And we do not follow the illegal decisions. We think by issuing resolutions against us, Mr. Obama will suffer more.”
Obama gained the presidency on the premise he would make a “change in the tough behavior” of the Bush administration, Ahmadinejad said, but “the fact that he’s going to follow, to take decisions against the Iranian people, is an end to his stature.”
Obama has been pressing for more economic sanctions against Iran because of its alleged failure to comply with its responsibilities as a signatory of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Obama has said Iran cannot be allowed to become a nuclear weapons state.
Russia and China until recently had blocked attempts by the U.S., Britain and France, the three other permanent Security Council members, to introduce new sanctions. But Russia recently expressed a readiness to support “smart” sanctions that do not target the Iranian people, while China appears willing if the drafts submitted by the West are watered down.
Museveni, for his part, walked a fine line between seeking new investment from Iran while risking alienating the West. Uganda, he said, has not yet ruled out the possibility of voting for sanctions against Iran.

Weapons of mass destruction are haram: Leader
Tehran Times Political Desk
TEHRAN - Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said that the use of weapons of mass destruction is haram (forbidden in Islam).
Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in a message to the nuclear disarmament conference, which is currently underway in Tehran.
Iran regards utilizing nuclear weapons as haram and it is incumbent on everyone to safeguard humanity from such weapons, he said.
Ayatollah Khamenei added that nuclear and chemical weapons are serious threats to humanity.
The Iranian nation has been a victim of chemical weapons and more than anyone else understands the threat of such weapons and is ready to make every effort to eradicate such weapons, he stated.
He went on to say that nuclear technology is one of the greatest achievements of mankind and has a variety of uses in industry, medicine, and agriculture.
And every nation is entitled to the peaceful use of this technology, he added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei said the only country in the world that has used nuclear weapons is calling other nations a nuclear threat.
“The only atomic criminal in the world is falsely claiming to be campaigning against the proliferation of nuclear weapons, while it has definitely made no serious effort toward this end,” he noted.
If the claims of the United States were true, the Zionist regime would not have been able to turn the occupied territories into a nuclear weapons arsenal, he said.
Although a number of countries have manufactured nuclear weapons, only the United States has carried out a nuclear attack, and now it is making claims about a campaign against nuclear weapons, he noted.
The Leader stated that any use of nuclear weapons, and even any threat to use such weapons, is a serious violation of human rights and a war crime.
Ayatollah Khamenei also expressed hope that the participants at the Tehran disarmament conference would make realistic proposals to eliminate this threat to humanity.
The Nuclear Energy For All, Nuclear Weapons For No One conference opened in Tehran on Saturday.

This warning, along with an announcement that Iran would join the world's nuclear club within a month, raised the pitch of Iranian anti-US rhetoric to a new high Tuesday, April 13, as 47 world leaders gathered in Washington for President Barack Obama's Nuclear Security Summit. The statement published by Kayhan said: "If the US strikes Iran with nuclear weapons, there are elements which will respond with nuclear blasts in the centers of America's main cities." For the first time, DEBKA file's military sources report, Tehran indicated the possibility of passing nuclear devices to terrorists capable of striking inside the United States.
Without specifying whether those elements would be Iranian or others, Tehran aimed at the heart of the Nuclear Security Summit by threatening US cities with nuclear terror.
DEBKA file's Iranians sources report that Tehran is playing brinkmanship to demonstrate that the Washington summit, from which Iran and North Korea were excluded, failed before it began, because terrorist elements capable of striking inside the US had already acquired nuclear devices for that purpose.
Although Iran has yet to attain operational nuclear arms, our military sources believe it does possess the makings of primitive nuclear devices or "dirty bombs."http://www.debka.com/article/8713/
